Bishop Kola Onaolapo

Young Kola Onaolapo grew under his father and mother Mr Caleb & Mrs Elizabeth Onaolapo for the first decade of his life. He afterwards moved to Pategi in the then Kwara State to live with his sister and there attended S. I. M. Primary School. He was very brilliant and came out in flying colors even at that tender age.

Subsequently, he proceeded to Pategi Secondary School where he obtained his O' levels certificate, School of Basic Studies Zaria (1975-1977) where he obtained his A' levels certificate and eventually to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Chemistry in 1982.

In 1973, the young and promising student of Pategi Secondary School met with the Lord and subsequently received Holy Ghost baptism in 1976. All

through his life as an undergraduate, he was popularly known as an Evangelist and Pastor. In fact, most people that came across him didn't see him as a student but as an evangelist.

He was one of the leaders of the famous Samaru Gospel Team throughout his undergraduate days. Kola Onaolapo served in the NYSC scheme in Borno State and was one of the leaders of the Christian Corpers fellowship. He was obsessed with the Gospel and held crusades in most cities in the northern part of the country.

Kola founded the Abundant Life Churches in August 1984 at Ilorin. The church started in Bishop Smith Memorial College in a classroom with 5 members and in the space of three month, the facility being used could not contain the crowd that became members of the Church. The church secured a bigger facility, Old Midland Stores, and moved into it for a few months. Shortly after this movement, the church procured a property (four plots of land) at Oko-Erin in Ilorin and to God's Glory, erected a beautiful Cathedral capable of seating 1500 worshippers. As at today, five branches of Abundant Life Churches have been established in Ilorin. Other branches of the church have sprung up in Lokoja, Ibadan, Jebba and Abuja.

In October 1991 the Lord instructed Kola Onaolapo to move to Lagos to start another branch. Lagos church subsequently started at Airport Hotel with two people. However today, the headquarters of the church is located at 69 Iju Road in Agege on an 8.2 acres of land on which a Cathedral capable of seating 25,000 worshippers is being built. The Lagos churches have grown to include branches.

One of the arms of Abundant Life Gospel Mission is KOWOM (Kola Onaolapo World Outreach Ministry). This ministry is dedicated to outreaches in crusades and Kola Onaolapo has successfully conducted power-packed programs both inside and outside the shores of Nigeria. One of such crusades is the annual Enough Is Enough crusade. Over the years, this event has brought succour to multitudes of afflicted personalities.

All manners of miracles happen at this crusade; mass deliverance takes place, the lame walks, the deaf hears, the dumb speaks, decisions are made for Christ etc. August is

the month earmarked for this crusade and he will be conducting the 2008 version from 22 to 26 August.

His passion for souls led him to TV evangelism. As an arm of the mission, TV Outreach has played a great role in winning souls for Christ. Currently, live telecast is beamed to viewers on Eagle TV on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 9 to 10pm.

Kola is a prolific writer. He has authored many edifying books such as ABC of Christianity, Understanding the Holy Spirit Baptism, The Faith That Wins, Unlimited God, You have A place In The Palace etc.

Kola Onaolapo was consecrated into the office of a Bishop on the 9th of October 1999. Bishop Kola Onaolapo and Jane Taiye were joined together in Holy Matrimony on 27th March 1986 and the family is blessed with four children all born-again and Spirit-filled.
